The exhibition
“Entre Linhas” at Palácio Marquês de Abrantes is part of the
BIP/ZIP 2015 support program of the Municipality of Lisbon. The
“Palace as Housing” is the appropriate theme for content in the
form of an exhibition aimed at the community of Rua de Marvila,
taking as reference the recognition of this space as a receiver and
aggregator of the genesis of the inhabitants currently residing in
this territory. The purpose is to reveal the potential willingness to
add new groups of individuals, an example being the importance of the
period of industrialization in the eastern part of Lisbon for the
permanence and experience of a community that arrived in a context
different from its origin.

Project description
The Palácio Condes de Figueiró, known by the local population as Palácio Marquês de Abrantes, identified in the anti-gentrification action as a building to be preserved and recovered, is the epicentre of an urban revitalization action based on the social portrait of those who daily create the dynamics of Rua de Marvila.
The exhibition space was an open door to the community, both in terms of the content presented and the resources included. The Ateliermob, represented with a workspace inside the exhibition, aims to involve those who visit us in a participatory process within the themes launched in the program, through round tables, local support office and invitations to external entities in the perspective of the restoration of the Palace.
This exhibition intends to contribute to a portrait of the territory in its contemporaneity as a speculative vehicle for the successful reconversion of the Palace as a housing and cultural centre for the future community of Rua de Marvila.
