Tiago Mota Saraiva @ Goethe-Institut Lisboa
Presentation and discussion | An event organized as part of the European project Citizens and Libraries against Disinformation
On November 28, at 6 p.m. in the library of the Goethe-Institut in Lisbon, a public session will be held on the topic of misinformation in the context of the housing crisis, with a special focus on the role of cooperatives. Admission is free.
The first part of the event will be dedicated to the first public presentation of the results of journalistic research on the topic conducted by Polígrafo by journalist Sara Reis Teixeira. This investigation analyzes how disinformation affects the debate on housing and highlights the role of cooperatives, which play an essential role in the production and dissemination of reliable information on the topic.
The second part will be followed by a discussion with Filipa Serpa (Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa), Frederico Santos (CASES), Jorge Guilherme (Federação Nacional de Cooperativas de Habitação Económica), and Vattani Saray-Delabar (Rede Co-Habitar), moderated by Tiago Mota Saraiva (Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa), on the role of cooperatives as a response to the housing crisis. The challenges and potential of this model in the current urban and social context will be addressed – within the scope of the International Year of Cooperatives 2025.
