We are delighted to see the start of work in the Bairro Padre Cruz, as part of the pilot project Promoting Women's Safety in Public Spaces and Access to Public Transport.

This project was developed by Cooperativa Trabalhar com os 99% and Lisbon City Council and is the first project to prioritise women's safety in public spaces. The work is the result of extensive research and was designed with the participation of the neighbourhood's female residents. According to information provided by the Lisboa para Pessoas website, the redevelopment of the streets will guarantee ‘comfortable pavements, accessible pedestrian crossings and the relocation of bus stops to safer areas.’
