[ENG] Crises is creating opportunities on architecture. This is not the generic statement of one bank focused on real estate investments. Low budget and sustainable urban experiences are changing lives and getting the attention of the world. Starchitects are loosing pages on books and magazines for large social interventions by unknown social architects. “Small Scale Big Change - New Architectures of Social Engagement” at MoMA (thanks to Maria de Morais) is the last example of that.
In Portugal we are still celebrating SAAL (1975) and its architects. Architect's new social engagement worldwide might take a decade to be considered at national media or at the official Portuguese representations, although the most interesting new offices are already working on it.
